A little about the authors

Russ Wetli is a father of four in a little midwestern town in Indiana who started in the hobby game space in late 2020 as something new.   Quickly afterward he found a passion for historical board games but still will play sci-fi and fantasy games along with a side of table top RPG along the way.   This blog is meant to be a sharing of Russ’s trip down the rabbit hole of gaming.   Hopefully, those who have found it will find it entertaining, enlightening, or perhaps just a welcome distraction for a few moments.

Jacob Garis started getting into gaming as a new hobby and outlet. Starting with TCG, Magic the Gathering quickly became interested in board games. Russ introduced historical wargaming to Jacob, and together they research, play, and discuss the games they play. Jacob enjoys games that invite more player interaction at the table, whether they are RPGs, asymmetrical, or partnering up. He hopes that through this blog Cardboard Conflicts can connect people and our love of gaming.
